On Sunday an open house was held to review the improvements made to the Wolf Branch Middle School.
In August 2017 settlement cracks began to appear due to mine subsidence which resulted in the closing of the school the following month. Sunday’s open house is the result of an extensive four year planning process that involved the Board of Education, Ill. State Rep Jay Hoffman, ISBE, IDNR, ICDB, St. Clair Co. ROE, and the Federal Dept. of the Interior that provided the necessary funds to replace portions of the school and renovate other areas.
A large turnout at the open house saw what good planning can accomplish. Ittner was responsible for the planning and design and Holland Construction Services was the construction manager.
